Transport infrastructure projects are actively developing in the Turkestan region. Today, under the chairmanship of Akim of the region Nuralkhan Kusherov, issues of the development of the Turkestan International Airport were discussed. The head of the region instructed the heads of relevant departments and the airport administration to work on opening new flights and increasing the airport's capacity.
– Conduct a detailed analysis of the ways of development of Turkestan International Airport and organize the appropriate work. It is also necessary to carefully study investors and establish effective cooperation. We will support only those projects and agreements that contribute to the development of tourism, transport infrastructure and the airport in the region," said Nuralkhan Kusherov.
Kuatzhan Zhumatayev, Head of the Department of Passenger Transport and Highways of the Turkestan region, spoke about the directions of development of the aviation industry and outlined the key problems. Negotiations are currently underway with several airlines, and it is planned to increase the number of domestic and international flights.
It is worth noting that subsidized flights to Kostanay – Turkestan and Karaganda – Turkestan are being opened in order to develop domestic tourism. QAZAQ AIR has already launched a flight on the Kostanay – Turkestan route from January 4, and flights on the Karaganda – Turkestan route will begin on January 13. It is also planned to launch flights from Astana to Turkestan starting from January 13.
