PREPARATIONS FOR SPRING FIELD WORK HAVE BEGUN IN TURKESTAN REGION

As part of the instruction of the Head of State to double the volume of agricultural products in the Turkestan region, plans have been successfully implemented to attract investments in fixed assets, introduce water-saving technologies, scientific application of mineral fertilizers and create modern dairy farms. As a result, the total volume of agricultural products reached 1.1 trillion tenge.
Preparations for spring field work in the region are currently in full swing. This issue was discussed at the weekly meeting of the regional akim's office. Akim of Turkestan region Nuralkhan Kusherov gave relevant instructions to the responsible persons.
– Agriculture is one of the main drivers of the development of the Turkestan region. Our sowing campaign starts earlier than in other regions. Therefore, it is important to carry out high-quality spring field work. It is necessary to use all state mechanisms to provide support to farmers and agrarians. The established indicators in agriculture must be fulfilled," Nuralkhan Kusherov said.
According to Alibek Plalov, acting head of the regional department of agriculture, this year the area of agricultural land will increase by 27 thousand hectares compared to last year and will amount to 896 thousand hectares. Of these: Spring crops – 518 thousand hectares, Winter crops – 204 thousand hectares, Perennial grasses (alfalfa) – 174 thousand hectares.
Priority is given to highly profitable crops in the formation of the crop structure. In particular, cotton per 31 thousand hectares (137.1 thousand hectares) of grain crops per 3 thousand hectares (333.6 thousand hectares) of oilseeds per 2 thousand hectares (72.7 thousand hectares). Melon crops will be reduced by 8 thousand hectares (66.3 thousand hectares), winter crops - by 6 thousand hectares (223.3 thousand hectares).
The need for 61.5 thousand tons of preferential fuels and lubricants has been determined for spring field work. Work on the liberation will begin in February. Commodity producers have enough of the required amount of seeds for spring crops. 7 billion tenge is provided from the regional budget to provide mineral fertilizers. The required amount of fertilizers supplied to the region has been agreed with the domestic fertilizer producer KazAzot JSC, Kazphosphate LLP. Applications for loans for spring field work in the amount of 13 billion tenge have been submitted. To date, applications for 4 billion tenge have been accepted, projects worth 2 billion tenge have been approved, and financing is underway.
It is planned to use 25 thousand pieces of equipment for spring field work. Agricultural enterprises have 12,000 tractors, 1,000 seeders, 554 plows, and 1,000 cultivators. 98 percent of the equipment is ready for field work. As a result of the continuous provision of state support, agricultural machinery was updated by 6.3% last year.
