TURKESTAN: A LARGE-SCALE CLEAN-UP WAS HELD IN ZHETYSAI

Within the framework of the Taza Kazakhstan project, initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a large-scale clean-up took place in Zhetysai district today.
Akim of the district Serik Mamytov, Chairman of the district maslikhat Medet Kassymov, employees of state and quasi-state institutions, as well as local residents took part in the event aimed at drawing public attention to the preservation of cleanliness in places of residence and the formation of an ecological culture.
Sanitary cleaning, which was attended by about a thousand people and 8 pieces of equipment, was carried out in the city, towns and all rural districts according to the approved schedule. Employees of state and quasi-state institutions cleaned the streets assigned to them, and residents of the district cleared their household plots of garbage. Parks, streets and irrigation channels were also cleaned during the clean-up.
In addition, during the mass clean-up, garbage accumulations near apartment buildings, in courtyards and along streets were removed, as well as irrigation systems were cleaned. About a thousand seedlings of black poplar, willow and juniper were planted as part of the event.
According to the organizers of the clean-up day, work to maintain cleanliness in cities, towns, districts and settlements of the region will continue all year round. In addition, responsible persons will be assigned to each institution and each yard, and rural elders will be involved in maintaining cleanliness.
