IN THE TURKESTAN REGION, SETTLEMENTS ARE COVERED BY MEDICAL FACILITIES

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to improve and increase the accessibility of healthcare infrastructure in populated areas. A lot of work is being done in this direction in the Turkestan region. According to Deputy Akim of the Turkestan region Beysenbai Tazhibayev, in order to meet the needs of the population and improve the quality of medical care, priority attention is being paid to the construction of modern medical facilities and the training of specialized specialists in the region.
- Construction of 55 healthcare facilities was started in the Turkestan region last year. Within the framework of the national pilot project "Modernization of rural healthcare", 48 primary health care facilities were built. Several medical facilities are being renovated. As a result, more than 100,000 residents of villages and towns will be provided with medical care. In addition, modern equipment and ambulances have been purchased in hospitals and polyclinics in the region. Work will continue to improve the availability of medical services in the villages," Beisenbai Tazhibayev said.
Sanitary requirements and fire safety have been met at the newly opened facilities. They are equipped with modern medical equipment. These institutions provide high-quality primary health care to rural residents.
To date, the need for 58 medical facilities has been identified, of which 25 are planned to be implemented in 2025.
The relevant work is constantly being studied and carried out to provide the population of the region with qualified medical specialists. A shortage of 423 specialized specialists has been identified in the region. 141 of them belong to the regional multidisciplinary hospital with 570 beds in the city of Turkestan. It is planned to allocate 639 residency grants according to the 5-year plan to reach specialists. And since 2023, 176 grants have been disbursed.
In total, more than 24,000 medical workers work in medical organizations of the Turkestan Regional Health Department. Last year, 40 doctors underwent advanced training in Russia, and 234 mid-level health workers attended the medical hospital of the Office of the Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana.
