THE NATIONAL FLAG OF KAZAKHSTAN WAS RAISED AT THE UNIVERSIADE IN TURIN
Today, the National flag-raising ceremony was held at the athletes' campus of the XXXIII World Winter Student Games.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, addressed Kazakhstani athletes before the opening of the XXXII World Winter Universiade in Turin. About 2,000 student-athletes from various countries will take part in this prestigious competition, which brings together students from all over the world.
The honor of Kazakhstan at the Universiade will be defended by 103 athletes representing national and youth national teams. According to the Minister, creating conditions for the comprehensive development of youth, including active sports, is one of the key tasks of the Ministry. Sayasat Nurbek also focused on supporting talented students by providing them with opportunities to participate in national and international competitions.
"The President pays special attention to the development of sports. This strategic direction is aimed not only at the development of the sports sector, but also at strengthening the health of the population as a whole, as well as improving the quality of life. This initiative of the Head of State underlines the need to popularize sports and physical culture among the population," the Minister said.
In his address, Sayasat Nurbek stressed confidence in the athletes' victories, wished them good luck and noted that all Kazakhstanis were looking forward to their successes.
Also before the competition, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education Talgat Yeshenkulov, who heads the Kazakh delegation, met with representatives of the national team to work out the latest preparatory work.
