More than 70,000 hectares of unused agricultural land in the Turkestan region have been returned to the state. The region is actively working on the return of common pasture lands. Issues in this area were discussed at a meeting of the regional akim's office. Akim of Turkestan region Nuralkhan Kusherov instructed to strengthen the activities on the return of pasture lands. The issue of providing the population with pasture lands is being implemented within the framework of the instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the return of pastures to the rural population. The main task is to solve the problems with the constant shortage of pastures.
– The issue of providing the population with pasture lands is being implemented as part of the President's instructions to return pastures to the population. Akims of districts and cities, together with responsible departments and departments, should step up this work. The return of lands that are not used for their intended purpose should be carried out systematically. It is necessary to take into account the results of space monitoring and conduct an analysis. Monitoring, research and awareness–raising among the population should not stop," Nuralkhan Kusherov said.
The meeting heard a report by the head of the regional Land Relations Department, Yergali Tilegen. According to him, the total land fund of the region is 11 million 610.3 thousand hectares. To return unused agricultural lands and land plots used in violation of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the composition of the interdepartmental working group was approved by the order of the akim of the region. It is planned to return 60,000 hectares of land to state ownership in 2024. At the moment, 70.9 thousand hectares have already been returned.
At the beginning of 2023, the shortage of pasture lands in the region was 2,122.2 thousand hectares. Thanks to the work carried out, the shortage of pasture lands decreased to 608 thousand hectares in 2024.
