Deputies of the Mazhilis of Parliament proposed to give military-technical schools the function of training military personnel

The Majilismen discussed amendments to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Military Service and the status of military personnel" with specialists of the Almaty branch of the Military Technical School.
The heads of the institution familiarized the deputies of the Mazhilis and the Almaty Maslikhat with the activities of the Military Technical School of the Ministry of Defense for the training of conscripts, a military-trained reserve for the recruitment of positions that determine the combat readiness of the Armed Forces.
Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security of the Mazhilis of Parliament Aigul Kuspan and Deputy Aidos Sarym noted that in the new realities, the issues of replenishing the country's mobilization resource are becoming particularly relevant.
At the meeting, attention was paid to the topic of military-patriotic education, which is an essential component of the state's defense capability.
According to Marat Nagumanov, Deputy Director General of the Military Technical School of the Ministry of Defense and head of the Center for Military Patriotic Education, retired Major General, today military technical schools are assigned the role of centers for military patriotic education of young people.
It is also important that these issues are reflected in the lawmaking process. Thus, at the initiative of Deputy Olzhas Kuspekov, it is proposed to amend the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Military Service and the status of military personnel" on the issue of taking the military oath by conscripts studying in specialized organizations of the Ministry of Defense. The MP believes that this amendment will work to strengthen the prestige of military service and the image of the military technical school.
In addition, members of Parliament Aidos Sarym, Bolat Kerimbek, Samat Nurtaza and Maxim Rozhin proposed to provide military technical schools with the function of training military personnel. According to the legislators, this will help strengthen the personnel potential of the Armed Forces. At the same time, the shortage of some specialists will be filled through the course training of military personnel and those liable for military service.
The deputies reported that these amendments were approved at meetings of the working groups of the Mazhilis and the Government and in 2025 will be adopted in a new version of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On military service and the status of military personnel."
