A student of the 7th "D" class of the lyceum school No. 38 in Astana, Baktygali Yerlanuly, has developed a smart trash can, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
A young inventor who shows an interest in everything new and cares about cleanliness in public places has automated trash cans in his home. The body of the trash can is equipped with a lid that opens automatically when a person raises his hand, and closes again after 5 seconds.
"I think it's not hygienic to open the lid of a trash can with your hands. After all, invisible microbes can remain on the lid, which can then enter the human body. Therefore, I decided to make a lid that opens by itself," explains Baktygali.
The student, who dreams of becoming a journalist in the future, said that he is already studying scientific discoveries and learning how to publish them.
