A meeting of the Military Council of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was held in Astana under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov with the participation of heads of cooperating bodies and military commanders.
The meeting reviewed the results of service and combat activities over the past period. Opening the meeting, the head of the Ministry noted that the National Guard in the Interior Ministry system plays one of the key roles in ensuring public safety and law and order in the country.
— The National Guard has adequately ensured the fulfillment of its tasks, including in the aftermath of floods. Last year, the Head of State opened a departmental aviation base. The level of material and technical equipment is steadily increasing," said Police Lieutenant General Yerzhan Sadenov.
The report was delivered by the First Deputy Commander–in-Chief of the National Guard, Chief of the General Staff, Major General Kairat Aktanov. They were informed about the participation of military personnel in joint exercises and trainings, ensuring law and order, including during important socio-political events, performing patrol duties, suppressing offenses, and increasing the combat potential of special forces units.
In addition, the reports of the commanders of the regional commands were heard.
Summing up the meeting of the Military Council, the Minister set a number of specific tasks to ensure the combat readiness and combat capability of the troops.
In turn, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Commander—in-Chief of the National Guard, Major General Ansagan Baltabekov assured that all assigned tasks will be completed in full.
In conclusion, Police Lieutenant General Yerzhan Sadenov congratulated the veterans and personnel on National Guard Day and wished them success in fulfilling their official combat missions.
