Kazakhstan has won its first gold medal at the XXXII World Winter Universiade in Turin today.

Our compatriot Anastasia Gorodko, a 3rd-year student of the Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism, won the freestyle mogul competition with a score of 79.79 points and brought Kazakhstan the first gold medal. Japanese Harko Nakao took the second place (76.29 points), while German Hannah Wiese rounded out the top three (75.04 points).

Another of our compatriots, Ayaulym Amrenova, a 1st-year doctoral student at al-Farabi Kazakh National University, also performed in the final, taking 5th place.
