The implementation of the Auyl Amanaty project continues in the Karaganda region. In Bukhar-Zhyrau district, six farms issued commodity loans – 27 heads of cattle – to eight families. The project was launched on behalf of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to improve the well-being of the villagers.
Recall that commodity lending works like this: rural residents are provided with large or small cattle. Within five years, borrowers are required to give two out of three heads of offspring to the lender. For example, for one cow in five years, a villager needs to repay three calves in the form of a loan payment. After fulfilling this condition and the expiration of five years, the commodity loan will be repaid.
– The advantage of commodity lending is the opportunity to develop your farm without significant initial investments. For 5 years, families can earn income from the sale of milk, which helps to improve their financial situation. Repayment of the loan is carried out not in cash, but in calves, which allows borrowers not to experience financial pressure and at the same time develop their farms," said Manat Kurmangaliev, head of the Department of Agriculture of Bukhar—Zhyrau district.
The introduction of commodity credit has become a mutually beneficial solution, the entrepreneurs believe. This will help improve the well-being of rural residents.
– Not all low-income families can afford to buy livestock and start running a household. I allocated seven heads of cattle for two families. I know both families. I support them in their efforts to improve their standard of living. Dairy cows. The villagers will receive milk from them, sell butter and sour cream. In five years, the cows themselves will remain in these families. A total of four calves will be returned to me," says Grigory Sharkov, head of the Ulken Farm.
Commodity credit is especially important for low-income and large families. Ruslan Bashaev, a resident of Akzhar village, is a father with many children. He is one of those who received a commodity loan.
– The family is big, I'm thinking about the future of the children. When I was offered to participate in the commodity lending program, I immediately agreed. The head of the Arlan farm allocated three cows for my family. The credit conditions are good and profitable," said the father of many children.
Bukhar-Zhyrau district became the first in the region where commodity lending was launched. The program will continue to be implemented.
