The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Sadenov held a meeting with the heads of services and departments of the Almaty city Police Department.
The head of the department, having reviewed the results of the department's operational activities, drew the attention of the meeting participants to the need to strengthen preventive measures aimed at improving the criminal situation in the metropolis, as well as to actively involve the public in protecting public order in the city.
— The criminal situation in the country's largest metropolis, the financial and cultural center, is under the special control of the Head of State. The Police Department has a great responsibility for combating crime and ensuring public safety. All necessary conditions have been created for effective work, and digitalization resources are being used as much as possible. This year has been declared the Year of Prevention: "The police are on guard of law and order," Sadenov stated.
During the meeting, the Minister listened to reports from the head of the Almaty Police Department and district police departments, emphasizing that preventive measures are needed to solve the tasks set, which are aimed at creating safe and favorable conditions for citizens.
— In terms of reducing accidents and improving the traffic situation in the metropolis, it is necessary to improve video monitoring systems and actively use the capabilities of intelligent cameras as one of the effective methods of crime prevention and combating crime. Practice shows that in matters of public safety, it is necessary to make greater use of the potential of patrol police and district inspectors, who today play one of the key roles in solving crimes and preventing offenses," the head of the department noted.
Following the results of the operational meeting, Yerzhan Sadenov gave a number of specific instructions aimed at further improving the activities of the Almaty police.
