A meeting was held in Astana under the chairmanship of the Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Shakkaliyev with the participation of the President of the Kazakh-Italian Trade Association Marco Beretta. The meeting continued the Minister's trade and economic mission to Italy, held in October 2024.

The main topic of the discussion was the prospects for further development of trade and economic relations and an increase in the volume of bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and Italy. Special attention is paid to the need to establish export-import supply chains between Kazakhstan and Italy, as well as other countries.
According to the results of 11 months of 2024, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Italy amounted to 18.2 billion US dollars. Exports from Kazakhstan to Italy increased by 27.3% during this period and amounted to 17 billion US dollars.
Minister Arman Shakkaliyev noted the key role of air cargo transportation in ensuring reliable logistics. Kazakhstan, due to its strategic geographical location and the dynamic development of airport infrastructure, provides ample opportunities for efficient cargo delivery. Currently, cargo flights to Kazakhstan are operated by the Italian air cargo company Neos.

The parties also discussed the interest of the Italian industrial company Ansaldo in localizing the production of electric turbines in Kazakhstan. This project can be an important step in strengthening Kazakhstan's industrial potential and deepening economic partnership with Italy.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in organizing the Kazakh-Italian business forum, which is scheduled to be held this year. The forum is expected to bring together about 100 companies and more than 200 business representatives from both countries.
