The Military History Museum of the National Military-Patriotic Center of the Armed Forces hosted a Lesson of Courage dedicated to the memory of Hero of the Soviet Union, fearless Kazakh sniper Aliya Moldagulova.
It was attended by schoolchildren, students of colleges and universities of Astana, representatives of veteran organizations, search groups, military personnel and researchers of the museum.
Major Daulet Kadyrov, head of the Military History Museum, recalled that October 25, 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of Aliya Moldagulova's birth. In this regard, large-scale anniversary events will be held in Kazakhstan.
– In the year of Aliya Moldagulova's 100th birthday, we honor her memory. We invited schoolchildren and students to the lesson of courage. They should know about the strength of the spirit of the Kazakh soldiers who fought on the war fronts and made an invaluable contribution to the Victory," Daulet Kadyrov said.
The participants of the event had the opportunity to listen to an audio recording of Aliya's last letter to her sister Sapura Moldagulova, sent in January 1944.
The commander of the Memorial Zone search team, Professor of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Maidan Kusainov, noted that the further the echo of the war goes, the stronger the human memory of this terrible time should be.
