International industrial cooperation: Kanat Sharlapayev meets with leading companies

As part of his working trip to Riyadh, Kazakh Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapayev attended key events of the Future Minerals Forum, including panel sessions and an exhibition, and held a number of meetings with representatives of international companies.
Key meetings with leading companies and representatives of government agencies of Saudi Arabia, attended by representatives of the Business Council of Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia, were held with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Saudi Arabia.
Kanat Sharlapayev met with Xcalibur CEO Andres Blanco. Xcalibur Smart Mapping is a global leader in aerogeophysics and mapping. The company offers comprehensive and sustainable solutions for mapping and evaluating natural capital, renewable and non-renewable resources.
Next, the Minister held a meeting with the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia Khalid Al-Falih.
Kanat Sharlapayev took part in a panel session on the topic "How can we get nation-states to work together to deliver minerals on the required scale?". The session was moderated by Becky Anderson, Managing Editor of CNN Abu Dhabi & Anchor and CNN International. The speakers also included Sarah Jones, Minister of Industry of the United Kingdom, Nick Nazmi, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability of Malaysia, Nick Ahmad, Minister of Energy and Petroleum of Pakistan, Musadiq Malik, and Ville Rydman, Minister of Economy of Finland.
The Minister met with Kimberly Harrington, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Diplomacy at the U.S. Bureau of Energy Resources. The sides touched upon issues of ensuring energy security, energy resources and achieving the goals of decarbonization.
Kanat Sharlapaev also held a meeting with Mick Davis, CEO of Vision Blue. It is a mining investment company that creates a portfolio of strategic investments in metals and mineral resources.
The Minister met with Helaina Mazza, Acting Special Coordinator for the Partnership on Global Infrastructure and Investments at the Department of State. During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for developing international cooperation in the field of infrastructure and promoting sustainable economic growth.
Kanat Sharlapaev held a meeting with John Bianchini, CEO of Hatch. It is a global multidisciplinary Canadian company. It offers comprehensive engineering, consulting and digital services in the metallurgical, mining and infrastructure sectors in 150 countries around the world. The company's clients include the largest mining and metallurgical companies in the world.
During the Future Minerals Forum, sessions were held on the topics "Build or buy: is the allocation of capital and financial discipline sufficient to meet the demand for minerals?" and "Reducing Investment Risks: Ways to develop sustainable Mineral Supply Chains in a fragmented world."
An outdoor exhibition was also organized during the forum, where the latest heavy trucks and equipment, innovative all-terrain vehicles for transporting minerals and mining products were presented.
