In order to prevent various criminal elements and terrorist cells from entering the country, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is systematically working to curb illegal migration channels.
Organized crime units have detained several such criminal groups.
In the Turkestan and Zhambyl regions, the activities of three criminal groups involved in organizing the illegal migration of foreign citizens through falsification and forgery of documents have been suppressed.
In the West and North Kazakhstan regions, criminal cases are being investigated against Kazakhstanis who intended to illegally transport foreigners to the territory of a neighboring state, including through rough terrain.
In Kyzylorda, together with the border service of the National Security Committee, a group of people was detained who organized a scheme of "intermediary" services for the production of fictitious certificates and the illegal stay of foreigners in Kazakhstan.
— In total, more than 20 defendants are brought to criminal responsibility for these facts, who face punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 7 years with confiscation of property. Work to eliminate illegal migration channels continues," Kuandyk Alpys, a representative of the Department for Combating Organized Crime at the Interior Ministry, said.
