In the village of Kusshy Ata, located near the city of Kentau, the Muhammad Ali farm is engaged in strawberry cultivation all year round. The farm specializes in growing strawberries and raspberries.
According to the owner of the farm, the demand for strawberries among consumers is very high.
— We plan to increase production volumes in the future. The strawberry variety we grow is very productive. We expect to get a bountiful harvest from each bush. Since this is a family farm, sometimes we manage on our own. However, during the harvest season, we attract hired workers," the head of the farm noted.
To date, strawberries are grown on an area of 21 acres, from which more than 1 ton of harvest is obtained annually. The farm grows 6 varieties of strawberries. Varieties such as "Asia", "Clery" and "Lochty" yield one crop per year and are grown in the open ground. And the varieties "Murana", "Anabial" and "Albion" are multi-seasonal and yield crops all year round in greenhouses.
The farm buys the necessary seedlings in Almaty and then propagates them independently on its land. In the future, it is planned to expand the area for growing popular varieties of berries.
