An expanded staff meeting of the Ministry was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Myrzabosynov. It was attended by representatives of the Ministry, heads of regional departments responsible for tourism and heads of subordinate organizations.
The main indicators of the tourism sector were heard at the meeting, and the directions and topical issues of the development of the domestic tourism sector were comprehensively discussed.
Erbol Myrzabosynov noted the positive changes in the tourism industry and the steady growth of the internal and external tourist flow. So, according to the results of 9 months of last year, the number of domestic tourists increased by 562 thousand and reached 6 million people. The number of foreign visitors amounted to 11.5 million people, which is twice as much as in the same period of 2023. Of these, 969,000 foreigners stayed at the accommodation facilities.
"Last year, the Head of State held an expanded meeting on the development of domestic tourism. At this meeting, the President gave a number of instructions on the development of tourism. The main purpose of today's meeting is to discuss the implementation of the President's instructions and issues of regional tourism," said Yerbol Myrzabosynov.
The meeting raised topical issues of the regions and considered ways to solve them. Special attention was paid to such issues as the development of tourist infrastructure, the opening of new destinations and the promotion of entrepreneurship through government support measures.
Following the meeting, specific instructions were given to increase the competitiveness of the country's tourism potential, increase investment and strengthen the state's position in the international arena.
