Today, January 17, the Governor of Mangystau region Nurdaulet Qilibay met with the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Aktau, Golamreza Hashemi. The parties discussed issues aimed at developing cooperation between the two countries in the economic, trade, and transport and logistics sectors.

During the meeting, Golamreza Hashemi provided information about upcoming official interstate events in Iran and shared his plans.

Nurdaulet Qilibay expressed his intention to further develop cooperation between Mangystau region and Iran. The head of the region noted that he is ready to provide all necessary support for the implementation of joint projects to raise bilateral relations to a new level.

- Mangystau region is always open to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation with Iran. We are interested in raising bilateral relations to a new level through the implementation of trade and business projects in our region. We are ready to support all joint initiatives and events. Also, this year, Aktau was approved as the cultural capital of the Turkic world. In this regard, the official opening ceremony of a large-scale event is planned to be held in April. We would also like to see the Iranian delegation at that event, - said Nurdaulet Kilybay.

It should be noted that the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the foreign trade relations of the Mangystau region is special. Currently, 66 enterprises in various sectors of the economy with the participation of Iranian capital operate in the region. The foreign trade turnover between the Mangystau region and Iran amounted to 38.3 million US dollars as of the results of 10 months of 2024. Of which, the volume of exports is 5.1 million US dollars, and imports are 33.2 million US dollars.
