On January 17, the participants of the "Eco-bird Feeders" competition, organized by the Youth Resource Center as part of the "Taza Kazakhstan" program initiated by the Head of State, were awarded in Petropavlovsk Victory Park. This event has become an important stage in the environmental education of schoolchildren and the popularization of bird care in winter. The event was also attended by representatives of student youth, volunteers, veterans and sports organizations.
68 schoolchildren took part in the competition, who made environmentally safe bird feeders, which contributed to the formation of their respect for nature and the desire to help animals in the cold season. The participants of the competition were awarded with diplomas and sweet gifts.
Special attention should be paid to the fact that all the feeders made by the participants were installed directly in Victory Park, where schoolchildren were able to demonstrate in practice the care of wintering birds. This not only helped the birds survive the harsh winter months, but also became an important step towards the formation of environmental responsibility among the younger generation.
The aim of the competition is to foster an ecological culture among the younger generation and increase their activity in solving nature protection issues. The motto of the event "Winter is a difficult time for feathered friends, take care of the birds — hang up the feeder!" reflected the essence of the project aimed at helping wintering birds and creating safe feeders that do not harm the environment.
"We are glad that the Eco-Bird Feeders project has become successful and has gathered so many participants. It is important that children not only study nature, but also take an active part in its protection. We are confident that participation in such contests helps young people become more conscious and caring towards their surroundings," said Damir Abdin, head of the Petropavlovsk Youth Resource Center.
The contest participants expressed their gratitude to the organizers and sponsors, emphasizing how important it is that there be more such initiatives in the future. Many of the winners shared their plans to continue developing their environmental projects after the end of the winter season.
"I found out about the competition through school announcements and from my friends. I've always loved nature and am interested in ecology, and wintering birds is something I've always been interested in. When I found out that it is possible to make bird feeders and help them in winter, I decided to participate. I think that each of us should take care of nature, especially those animals that need our help in the cold season," said one of the contestants.
Representatives of the older generation also shared their opinion on the importance of environmental education.
"Today's event is not only the awarding of the contestants, but also an important step in the education of our children. The Head of State has repeatedly noted that environmental education plays a key role in shaping future citizens who will take care of our nature. I am glad that I was able to be a part of this project, and I hope that such initiatives will only expand," said Imangali Tatvaev, Deputy Chairman of the Petropavlovsk City Council of Veterans.
The competition "Eco-bird feeders" has become a vivid example of how to form an active civic position and environmental awareness among young people.
