The national basketball team of the Karaganda region, consisting of players born in 2012, took third place at the championship of Kazakhstan. This result looks even more significant against the background of the fact that just a year ago the same team was on the last line of the standings.
The Kazakhstan Basketball Championship among boys born in 2012 and younger was held in Shchuchinsk. Nine teams from different cities of Kazakhstan participated in it. Following the results of all the games, the national team of the Karaganda region won the bronze medal.
And Karaganda player Zhandos Aubakirov was recognized as the best player of the championship.
There are 12 players in the region's national team. Six of them are natives of Shakhtinsk, two from Abai and four from Karaganda.
– Over the past year, we have managed to show very good growth. This is a credit to both the coaches and the boys themselves. As the senior coach of the region, I was able to unite all the coaches of the region and build a system in which each age category has its own senior coach. They determine the individual approach to each player. Such a system makes work more productive and allows you to achieve better results," says Dastan Ayapbek, senior basketball coach of the Karaganda region.
It is worth noting that in November last year, the national team of boys born in 2009 became the third in the championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in December, athletes born in 2010 won gold at competitions of the same level. Before that, young Karaganda basketball players could not achieve such a result for eight years.
