TURKESTAN: TOPICAL ISSUES IN THE FIELD OF HEALTHCARE WERE DISCUSSED

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Akim of the Turkestan region Nuralkhan Kusherov, where topical health issues were discussed. The head of the region gave instructions to responsible managers to improve the health status of the population, increase the availability of medical care and step up work on providing high-quality medical services.
– It is necessary to increase the availability of medical care. The population should know what free medical services are available and within what time frame it is possible to undergo an examination. Step up your outreach efforts. Completely eliminate cases of citizens registering in medical institutions without their consent. Work harder," Nuralkhan Kusherov said.
Bauyrzhan Satybaldy, Deputy head of the regional health department, said that 20 out of 27 indicators were fulfilled in the first 10 months of last year, making the Turkestan region the first in the republic. To date, 83% of the region's residents are covered by the compulsory social health insurance system, which amounts to 1,708,558 people.
There are 7 major projects planned in the region in the field of healthcare facilities construction. Perinatal centers will be built in Saryagash and Ordabasi districts. In 2024, it is planned to complete the construction of a multidisciplinary hospital with 570 beds in Turkestan. 58 primary health care facilities were worn out. Of these, 25 objects are supposed to be placed in ready-made buildings.
In 2025, 1.5 billion tenge was allocated from the republican budget for equipping with medical instruments and equipment, and 8.8 billion tenge from the total transfer. The availability of medical equipment in state medical institutions in the region has reached 85.22%.
The region's healthcare management system employs 24,564 medical staff, including 5,447 doctors and 19,117 mid-level specialists.
At the same time, there is a shortage of 282 specialized doctors. In 2024, 331 graduates of medical universities were sent to the region, of which 147 were assigned to government institutions, and 31 have already been employed. In 2023, 43 doctors underwent advanced training abroad at the expense of the local budget.
The Turkestan region continues to develop the infrastructure and human resources of the healthcare system in order to increase its accessibility and the quality of services provided.
