Today, Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapayev met with the expert community in the field of urban planning in the "Think tank" format.
Presentations were made by Askhat Saduov, General Director of the Almatygenplan Research Institute LLP, Asylbek Kozhakhmetov, President of Almaty Management University, Gulnara Kurenkeeva, Rector of AlmaU, and Sergey Murunov, Academic Director of the MIPT "Cities of the Future" Scientific and Educational Center.
S.Murunov spoke about spatial planning as a key tool for development and effective management. He also presented the center's research project "Development of a strategy for accelerated technological diversification and a new industrial policy in Kazakhstan.
A. Saduov spoke about the theory of urban territory planning. He stressed the importance of using global experience in the development of urban planning concepts.
G. Kurenkeeva's report was devoted to the topic of new industrial policy and the concept of development of territories and regions.
During the meeting, the approaches of applying the best world practices in urban planning, ensuring the sustainable development of the territory, were considered. Issues such as urban development priorities, the concept of territory and regional development in synergy with industrial policy were also discussed.
The meeting with the expert community in the "Think tank" format is an important step in promoting the sustainable development and modernization of Kazakhstan's infrastructure, as well as in solving pressing problems in the construction industry.
Think tank is a method for collecting feedback from experts in order to reform the urban development industry. It is planned to hold a number of such meetings to form a new unified urban planning policy.
