This was stated by Akim of Atyrau region Serik Shapkenov at a press conference at the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to the head of the region, Atyrau region is a leader in attracting investments to the republic.

– In general, Atyrau's share in investments attracted to our country is 13%. Also, foreign direct investment is 1.1 billion US dollars. As you know, the expansion project "Project of the Future" is being completed at the Tengiz field. As part of it, 840 billion tenge of investments have been attracted to the region this year. Nevertheless, the volume of investments aimed at the development of other industries in the region is increasing annually, S. Shapkenov said.

Since the beginning of the year, eight investment projects worth over 46.1 billion tenge have been commissioned in Atyrau region. By the end of the year, it is planned to launch nine more investment projects worth 24.2 billion tenge.

In addition, as part of the instruction of the Head of State on the development of the petrochemical cluster in the west of the country, the construction of the Silleno plant for the production of 1.25 million tons of polyethylene per year and a gas processing plant in Esken with a capacity of 1 billion cubic meters of gas per year is underway in the region. Construction of the Butadiene plant for the production of butadiene and synthetic rubber, as well as a gas processing complex, will begin in the near future.
