Great attention is paid to the development of tourism in the Turkestan region, and active work is being carried out in this direction. The number of tourists coming to the region is increasing every year. In the first 9 months of last year, more than 235,000 people were served at the accommodation facilities. The number of one-day visitors reached about 900 thousand, and the volume of services in the field of tourism amounted to 5.3 billion tenge. Akim of Turkestan region Nuralkhan Kusherov instructed to intensify work in the field of tourism.
- Develop a specific plan for the development of tourism. All indicators related to this area must be fully implemented. Organize your work. Together with the departments of sports and culture, prepare a list of events that people will be interested in. Improve the tourist infrastructure, improve the quality of roadside services, and work on organizing event events. A tourist coming to the Turkestan region should know what is offered to him and where he can go. To do this, it is necessary to prepare special travel packages and step up information work," Nuralkhan Kusherov said, giving appropriate instructions to responsible managers.
The head of the regional tourism department, Nurdaulet Medeuov, spoke about the work done and upcoming plans. According to him, the e-qonaq system is used to keep records, and more than 21,000 foreign tourists visited the region last year. Most of the foreign guests came from neighboring countries, but there were also travelers from the USA, Germany, and France. In 2025, it is planned to implement 27 investment projects and create more than a thousand jobs. The total amount of planned investments is 26.3 billion tenge.
