The Command of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan (SSO) was established by Presidential Decree on January 19, 2022.
The military formation is designed to solve special tasks to ensure the country's defense capability and military security. If necessary, SOF units participate in anti-terrorist operations and provide counteraction to illegal armed groups.
The Special Operations Forces have introduced new combat and command training programs, small arms, mortar and military equipment shooting courses. The documents have been revised to take into account the special forces training system of countries with combat experience.
The emphasis is on the quality of training of personnel, the coherence of units of direct subordination and components of Special Operations Forces. Special attention is paid to the use of unmanned technologies and the training of specialists in this field.
Special Operations Forces soldiers are participants in many national and international exercises, survival courses in difficult climatic conditions, high–altitude jumps, fire and mountain training. As part of the national team of the Ministry of Defense, they are two-time winners of the Hand-to-hand Combat Cup among the law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan, three-time and absolute champions of the CIS. According to the results of the competitions this year, Special Operations Forces soldiers won 83 medals of various denominations.
The command of the Special Operations Forces is purposefully engaged in the formation of a reserve of professionally trained military personnel. For this purpose, a qualification test was organized, according to the results of which 29 servicemen earned the right to wear a burgundy beret, a symbol of military valor, courage and bravery.
Today, this specially trained, technically equipped, well-equipped advanced formation of the Armed Forces is ready to perform the most difficult tasks to protect the interests of the state and ensure its defense capability.
