A citywide Subbotnik was held in Turkestan within the framework of the Environmental Program "clean Kazakhstan", initiated by the head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The large-scale event was attended by Mayor of the city Azimbek Pazylbekuly, employees of the akimat and residents of the city.
"The prosperity of Turkestan, which has become the spiritual capital of the Turkic countries, is also directly related to the work of the city's residents," the head of the city thanked the citizens who took part in the cleaning.
The participants of the cleaning work cleaned parks and squares, ditches and streets from garbage. Activists of the Subbotnik noted the need for every citizen to keep their yard clean.
About 500 Turkestan residents took part in the event, about 30 units of equipment were involved. The garbage was taken to special landfills.
It should be noted that subbotniks are regularly organized on the territory of the region. This year, within the framework of the program, it is planned to hold about 7,300 cleaning events.
