Deputy akim of the region Yertay Altayev visited the Regional Museum of local lore, which has more than a century of history.
The deputy akim of the region was shown the ethnographic exhibits of the museum and presented the halls of the exposition.
Ertai Kenzhebekovich noted that the work of museums and libraries, as well as the collection of exhibits and books, is of great importance in raising the historical and cultural potential of the region and educating the younger generation. He also stressed the need for such cultural objects for the development of society and stressed the need to attract more young people to the museum.
Turkestan Regional Museum of local lore is an institution that preserves the cultural traditions and rich historical heritage of our region and provides spiritual and ideological education.
The Regional Museum of local lore was founded in 1920. This year the museum celebrates its 105th anniversary. The museum consists of 2 floors and 4 exhibition halls of nature and archeology, Ethnography, history of Kazakhstan and modern times, independent Kazakhstan.
The reserves of the cultural hearth are also valuable, very rich in historical artifacts. Currently, the total number of exhibits is 83,154, including the sword of the last Kazakh Khan Kenesary Kasymovich and other valuable historical collection exhibits.
To date, 7 branches of the museum serve the population in the districts of the region. In particular, there is a literary and cultural museum named after S. Erubayev in Turkestan, a literary and Memorial Museum named after Mirtemir in the village of Eski Ikan, a museum named after Shammet Ishan in the village of Karnak, A Museum of local lore in Tulkubas, Saryagash, Shardara districts, and A Museum of honored mother in Sairam district.
