The operation for circular resection of the thoracic part of the larynx was performed in a multidisciplinary hospital with an oncological center for a 72-year-old resident with cancer. The patient, who was diagnosed with grade III laryngeal stenosis and severe respiratory failure, decided to undergo urgent surgical treatment after the consultation.
In order to introduce the new method into practice, hospital specialists who have improved their qualifications in leading clinics in foreign countries have successfully implemented an integrated approach. During the operation, doctors opened the patient's chest, removed the damaged part of the larynx and restored the upper respiratory tract.
As a result of the teamwork of oncosurgeons Samat Ismailov, Talap Akpanbetov, cardiac surgeon Nurgisa Pernebayev, anesthesiologists Daniyar and Bakhtiyar Abetayev, the patient recovered from a serious illness and has now been discharged home.
