21.01.2025 17:16:28 1893In West Kazakhstan region, police officers and volunteers held an action to prevent online fraud in the outlets of the regional center.
Last weekend, police officers, together with volunteers, conducted a large-scale preventive action to prevent online fraud.
The event covered several large markets, shopping and entertainment centers and shopping malls in the city. The main purpose of the campaign was to inform citizens about methods of protection against fraud on the Internet and to warn them about the most common deception schemes.
The police told the visitors of the shopping facilities how to act correctly in case of suspicious online transactions and how to identify fraudsters. During the event, about five thousand information leaflets were distributed with warnings about online fraud methods and tips on protecting personal data.
Consultations and educational talks were also held with citizens of all age groups. Special attention was paid to vulnerable categories of the population — the elderly, who are most susceptible to fraud.
— Online fraud has become one of the main threats to the security of citizens in recent years. It is important that people not only know how to avoid cheating, but also be able to seek help in a timely manner. Today's action was another step in raising public awareness and safety," said Police Colonel Artur Musagaliev, head of the Department for Combating Cybercrime in the West Kazakhstan Region.
Similar events will continue in the future, with the aim of reaching all categories of citizens and increasing their level of security in the digital space.
