In Zhetisu, employees of the drug crime prevention unit conducted an operation to detain an organized criminal group consisting of foreigners and a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The group operated a drug laboratory for the manufacture of psychotropic substances — mephedrone.
— It was established that in the summer, while in France, a foreigner offered his relative a job abroad. After arriving in Kazakhstan, they set up a drug laboratory under the supervision of a curator and acted in accordance with his instructions. The Kazakhstani provided them with support by supplying the necessary equipment, and was also involved in drug sales," said Kuandyk Alzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Combating Drug Crime.
During the arrest, about 6 kg of mephedrone and special equipment were seized. The suspects are in custody.
"Further investigation is underway to identify all participants in the criminal scheme and bring them to justice," Kuandyk Alzhanov said.
