In accordance with the instructions of Akim of the region Nuralkhan Kusherov, with the support of JSC Turkestan Social and Entrepreneurial Corporation, fairs are held annually, which directly contribute to price stabilization.
A food fair is held every week in Turkestan. Today's fair was organized at the Turan Mall entertainment center. The event attracted a large number of people. The residents of the city expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to purchase goods at favorable prices.
19 types of socially significant goods at low prices were presented at the fair. In particular, potatoes and carrots were sold for 100 tenge, cabbage — for 55 tenge, onions — for 77 tenge, bread — for 70 tenge, eggs — for 40 tenge apiece. Salt was also sold for 45 tenge, wheat flour of the first grade for 190 tenge, buckwheat for 220 tenge, milk for 260 tenge, sunflower oil for 520 tenge.
According to Laura Zhanasbayeva, a representative of the corporation, at the moment the increase in potato prices is an urgent problem of the domestic market. However, the food stabilization fund of the Turkestan region has enough vegetables and groceries. Potatoes, the price of which has increased significantly, are offered to the population at a price three times lower than the market price. In order to ensure that the shelves do not remain empty, goods from the fund are constantly delivered to markets, large retail outlets, social stores and retail corners at a pre-set price.
It is worth noting that this is not an isolated event. It will continue in the future. The stabilization fund's goods will be delivered to the markets, and mobile fairs are held every week.
