The number of social outlets has been increased in the Zhetisu area. Their number will be increased to 12. In particular, there are 7 stationary social outlets in Taldykorgan, including 5 social shops, and now 5 more street trade facilities are being added to them for the convenience of the population. In general, the region has stocks of over 18,000 tons of products, including 1,485 tons of potatoes, according to two mechanisms for stabilizing prices for socially important food products. SEC Zhetisu carries out commodity interventions on an ongoing basis, selling contracted food products in the department's social outlets, the press service of the akim of the Zhetisu region reports.
In order to stabilize prices for socially important food products, SEC Zhetisu forms a stock of vegetable products, including potatoes, annually by concluding contracts with local agricultural producers and working on the formation of a regional stabilization fund and preferential lending to business entities producing and selling NWFPs.
Thus, 9 billion tenge was allocated from the local budget for the implementation of the above-mentioned mechanisms in 2023-2024. During the specified period, contracts for the supply of 31.2 thousand tons of NWFPs were signed with the allocated funds, of which 12.6 thousand tons have been sold today, with over 18 thousand tons of foodstuffs remaining, including social bread, Grade I flour, sugar, rice, horns, sunflower oil, buckwheat, salt, chicken, eggs, beef potatoes, onions, carrots and cabbage.
- We have signed contracts for socially important food products with local farmers. Due to the fact that the price of potatoes has increased, at this stage we are conducting a commodity intervention from the stabilization fund. The price of potatoes will not exceed 180 tenge. At this stage, we have 7 stationary social outlets in Taldykorgan, including social stores. Additionally, in accordance with the instructions of the akim of the region to stabilize prices for socially important food products, operational measures have been taken to increase social retail outlets. We are opening 5 street retail outlets, of which 2 have already started their work. So far, we plan that these additional outlets will be stable for the next 2 months," said Almira Ibraimova, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of SEC Zhetisu.
The work of the new social outlet in the city center has already been appreciated by local residents. One of them is Taldykorgan Elmira Smagulova:
- Here, in the tent, potatoes cost 180 tenge per kilogram, which is much cheaper. Other food products and vegetables are also sold. For example, fresh carrots. Rice is also "Bakanassky", a delicious variety, which is also why I bought it. You rarely find him at the bazaar," the townswoman shared.
