In Almaty, in 2025, 71 billion tenge is planned to be allocated from the budget for the development of small and medium-sized businesses, including by increasing funding from the local budget 2.5 times to 52.6 billion tenge. This will support only 4 thousand projects, including 2 thousand new projects. This is reported by the Department of Entrepreneurship and Investments of the city of Almaty.
Today, more than 85% of the total number of people employed in the city, or about 942 thousand Almaty residents, work in this field.
It should be noted that Almaty plans to increase the contribution of small and medium-sized businesses to the economy from 60% in 2024 to 75% by 2030.
In 2024, 53.1 billion tenge was allocated from the budget to support 2.5 thousand new projects.
