On January 21, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Security Committee, with the coordination of the Prosecutor's Office, completed a large-scale and lengthy special operation aimed at suppressing the illegal activities of criminal groups that have established a drug supply channel to institutions, as well as those involved in extortion and the financing of criminals.
Operational and investigative actions of the security forces were carried out simultaneously in 10 regions of the country.
In general, the measures were aimed at improving the criminogenic situation in institutions of the penal system, including in relation to persons who attempted to destabilize and violate the detention regime.
- During the operational development, a network of groups operating according to an established scheme was documented, which included people who had been convicted several times. In total, 118 persons of criminal orientation were detained, including 13 representatives of the criminal environment. Over 100 search operations were conducted. Three Kalashnikov assault rifles, two traumatic pistols, a large amount of ammunition of various calibers, over 11 kg of drugs, mobile devices and "black" documentation were seized. It should be noted that among the detained persons were representatives of criminals from far and near abroad. Operational measures are continuing," Kuandyk Alpys, a representative of the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Interior Ministry, said.
