The Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan met with the head of Kazatomprom
The Minister of Science and Higher Education met with the Chairman of the Board of JSC NAC Kazatomprom, Meirzhan Yusupov at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The results of the scientific and technological session were summed up on the agenda and prospects for further cooperation in the field of science and technology were discussed.
During the meeting, a report was presented on the results of the EOM scientific and technological session organized in September 2024 in Kyzylorda with the support of NAC Kazatomprom JSC. The event addressed current scientific and production tasks, such as the development of technologies for the extraction of rare earth metals, protection of equipment from wear and corrosion, as well as improving the efficiency of ion exchange sorption processes. As a result of the event, 25 tasks were proposed, 6 prototypes of solutions were created and 2 technical specifications were prepared.
One of the key results was the terms of reference for the development of environmentally sustainable methods to increase the efficiency of uranium extraction, as well as innovative methods for underground uranium leaching in difficult mining and geological conditions.
The scientific and technical activities of NAC Kazatomprom JSC were also presented at the meeting and areas for further cooperation with the scientific community were identified.
At the end of the meeting, a ceremony was held to award the participants of the session with letters of thanks for their contribution to the development of Russian science and technology, with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and JSC NAC Kazatomprom. The document is aimed at strengthening cooperation between science and the uranium industry, which will contribute to the introduction of scientific and innovative technologies and the development of strategically important industries.
Minister S.Nurbek stressed that such events create an effective platform for combining the efforts of science and business, which is especially important in the context of increasing Kazakhstan's competitiveness in the global arena.
