In the Karaganda Children's Library named after Abai, one of the bookcases is dedicated to famous anniversaries of the region. It presents books about people who have made a significant contribution to the development of the city and the region.
This year's exhibition is dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Nygmet Nurmakov, a statesman and public figure from the Karaganda region; the 100th anniversary of the scientist in the field of chemistry and metallurgy, writer, poet academician Yevney Buketov; the 85th anniversary of the famous journalist, publicist, member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, writer and poet Valery Mogilnitsky; the 75th anniversary of the poet, translator and the winner of the state prize Serik Aksunkarula.
The exhibition will run until the end of the year and will be updated as new editions become available.
The library invites young residents of Karaganda to get acquainted with the life and work of famous people in the region.
