"In order to prevent various accidents in the winter period, temporary posts have been set up in Turkestan region to stop traffic. Of these, 5 stations were installed on the roads of national significance, 28 employees and 8 official cars were involved. At the same time, 2 stations were installed on the roads of regional significance, 8 employees and 4 official cars were involved. Since January 21, employees of the Police Department and the Department of emergency situations of the Turkestan region have been working around the clock on the Shymkent–Taraz highway with the Republican manyzy. In addition, the roads in the direction of Taraz are currently completely closed. In particular, 28 police officers are working to close the roads on internal roads in Mashat, Shakpak Baba pass, Tulkubas and Sairam districts. In addition, internal roads in Baidibek and Sozak districts are blocked. We urge residents to refrain from long - distance travel by car until the weather improves," Kanat Zhumakhanovich said.
According to the head of the Department of Emergency Prevention of the Regional Department of Emergency Situations Nurlybek Rakhimberdiyev, who took part in the briefing, 40 units of equipment were involved in road accidents. In addition, 192 units of equipment are working to clear roads from snow.
"Currently, due to the deterioration of weather conditions, 2 people were rescued from 3 trucks stuck on the roads in Sozak District, 7 people from 2 cars stuck on the roads in Tolebi district. Today, there are 2 Highway medical and rescue points on the territory of the region, which are used if necessary. At the same time, 11 stationary heating points were prepared, 8 mobile heating points were created on the basis of shift buses," Nurlybek Sherakhmetovich said.
At the same time, deputy head of the State Fire Control Department of the regional emergency department, captain of civil protection Zhasulan Ainabek, said that this year there were 22 fires in the region. There are no deaths or injuries among them. During the heating season in 2024-2025, 134 fires have been registered in residential buildings to date, 3 people have been injured and 1 person has died. Since the beginning of 2025, no cases of toxic gas poisoning have been reported.
