President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of instructions on infrastructure development and increasing the number of settlements connected to natural gas in the country. At the same time, as of January 1, 2025, of the 807 settlements of the Turkestan region, 563 (69.7%) or 1,833,455 inhabitants, that is, 85.5% are covered by natural gas.
A lot of work will be done this year to significantly increase the number of regular users of natural gas in the region. By the end of the year, construction works will be carried out at 47 facilities to supply gas to settlements in the region. Of these, 25 will be commissioned in 2025, while the remaining 27 facilities will be transferred to 2026.
The "Action Plan for the provision of natural gas in the Turkestan region for 2023-2027" has also been approved. According to the document, 244 settlements of the region (311 thousand people) will be provided with natural gas in 2027.
