To eliminate the consequences of heavy snowfalls and ensure road safety in Shymkent, the work on snow removal has been taken under special control. The Office of the mayor of Shymkent monitors the operation of equipment on the streets of the city through video surveillance cameras in a special situation Center.
From the CCTV cameras installed on the streets of the city, you can instantly see where the equipment is working and which street is not cleaned. This will allow responsible specialists to promptly coordinate the work of snow removal and, if necessary, make urgent decisions and improve the quality of cleaning.
In addition, a special monitoring team from the city Department for the development of a comfortable environment monitors the route of each equipment using GPS devices and sends operational teams to areas where there is a risk of freezing.
Snow removal works are carried out primarily on the territory of socially significant objects (Hospital, School, kindergarten), pedestrian paths and Main Main streets of the first level. All streets are strewn with inert materials, and only after the complete snow removal work is completed, the collected snow on the side of the road is removed. The main priority is to clear the main streets.
In general, 189 units of special equipment and about 2,000 employees are involved in the cleaning of city streets from snow within the framework of Public-Private Partnership. Currently, work is constantly being carried out along the streets on sowing inert material, snow removal and cleaning of sidewalks. About 40 mini-tractors are working in five districts in order to prevent icing on the sidewalk. And the streets and intersections where the equipment does not fit are cleaned by municipal employees.
Stock of inert materials:
Sand: 24 800 m3
Salt: 13,200 tons
All municipal employees work in an enhanced mode around the clock to ensure the safety and comfortable conditions of the population.
