Comprehensive work is being systematically carried out in Zhambyl region to stabilize prices for socially important food products through the joint efforts of SEC Taraz, the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial and Innovative Development.
The Stabilization Fund conducts commodity interventions all year round, providing the population with affordable vegetables.
At the moment, potatoes are available in sufficient quantities and at a lower-than-market price in social stores.
During the off-season, forward purchases for the delivery of 3,050 tons of potatoes were concluded in a timely manner.
In Taraz, in mid-January, it was ordered to carry out commodity interventions for potatoes with a volume of 800 tons.
A total of 82.8 tons of potatoes were delivered to social stores, 64 retail outlets in Taraz at a fixed price of 130 tenge per kilogram. In particular, to the Yummy Basket, Nurislam, and Firkan stores.
"We buy potatoes, onions, eggs and other products at an affordable price on the social market," says Bibikhadisha Otarova, a resident of Taraz.
"Potatoes for 130 tenge, carrots for 90 tenge – you can always find the right product at a low price in a social store," says resident Nursultan Batyrbayev.
- SEC Taraz regularly delivers vegetables to us. We recently received potatoes at 130 tenge per kilogram. Residents are satisfied with the quality of the goods," says Asyl Zhalynbet, a saleswoman at the social market.
3-4 bags of potatoes are bought from each seller here per day.
It is worth noting that prices for socially important goods are monitored daily. Entrepreneurs are held administratively liable for exceeding the statutory trade allowance for social food products.
We should add that potatoes are sold at markets and other retail outlets from 300 tenge and above.
