Military personnel of the Department of Defense of the Abai region visited World War II veteran Ivan Romanovich Shevtsov, who turned 99 years old.
Ivan Shevtsov was born in the village of Antonovka, Altai Territory. During the war, he was drafted into the Red Army. Participated in the battles for the liberation of Poland and Czechoslovakia.
For his courage and bravery, the veteran was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, the Red Star and the medal for conscientious work.
After the war, he worked as a site manager at the Kazelectromontazh enterprise, where he proved himself to be a responsible specialist.
Lieutenant Colonel Kanat Sharipkhanov, Deputy Head of the Department of Defense of the Abai region for educational and ideological work, congratulated the veteran and thanked him for his contribution to the Victory and military valor. The servicemen wished Ivan Romanovich good health, optimism and longevity.
A particularly expensive gift for him was the performance of a military band. The musicians performed melodies of wartime songs for him, which touched and inspired the veteran.
