Military pilots are successfully mastering the flight equipment coming into service with the Kazakh army from the Airbus Military aircraft concern.
The contract of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan for the supply of the A400M aircraft with a European company provides training services for flight and engineering personnel, as well as the organization of technical support.
Therefore, the first flights on the A400M multipurpose aircraft are carried out jointly with specialists from the Airbus Military concern. This time, the flight crew of the Almaty air base carried out a training flight on the route Almaty - Taldykorgan and back.
The pilots worked out the entire range of exercises – from takeoff to landing, including flying along the route and performing maneuvers in a circle. At the same time, attention was paid to improving the skills of aircraft control, working out the interaction of the crew and ensuring the safe performance of transport tasks.
– The A-400M aircraft has unique characteristics and is designed to perform operational and strategic tasks. In terms of power, one flight is equal to six C-295 aircraft. Our pilots were trained in Spain. Now we conduct training flights with Airbus specialists here. They show us all the possibilities of the aircraft. We have already flown to the cities of Balkhash, Aktau, Atyrau," Lieutenant Colonel Asylbek Zhumabayev, commander of the letter squadron of the military transport aviation squadron, commented on the training process.
The multi-purpose aircraft is capable of covering an intercontinental distance of up to 8000 km. Its maximum speed is 802 km per hour, flight altitude is 12,200 meters, carrying capacity is 37 tons, and capacity is about 100 people.
According to experts, the aircraft is designed to transport heavy equipment, including armored personnel carriers, artillery installations and helicopters. It can be used for the rapid delivery of humanitarian aid in emergency situations and for the transfer of troops.
A universal transporter can land not only on a concrete runway, but also on an unprepared unpaved one.
According to the delivery plan, the next Airbus A-400M military transport aircraft will arrive in Kazakhstan in 2026.
