The Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan has published a draft order on the introduction of a ban on the export of scrap and waste of non-ferrous and ferrous metals, as well as used pipes, rails, railway lining elements and rolling stock from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan by rail.
This norm was adopted in order to provide domestic metallurgical enterprises with raw materials and load them, since the maximum processing of secondary metals within the country is a strategically important direction for the production of products with the highest added value, as well as environmental friendliness and minimal energy consumption.
As the authorized body in the field of state stimulation of industry, the Ministry has been carrying out consistent work aimed at expanding the production of the steel industry over the past few years, focusing on domestic and foreign markets. This is a key element in the development of national industrial policy.
The order will come into force ten calendar days after the date of its first official publication.
