On January 24, volunteers from the "Astana Youth" youth resource center distributed hot tea and baursak to utility workers as part of the large-scale "Clean Kazakhstan" eco-campaign, the city akimat's official website reported.
"Today, on January 24, we came out to show our support for utility workers who, despite the frosty weather, are helping to keep the capital clean. In this way, we want to give warmth and good mood to people who work from morning to evening," says Kaisar Kulkozhakhmet, a volunteer from the capital.
In turn, utility workers expressed their gratitude to the volunteers.
"I would like to thank the volunteers for organizing such an action on a frosty day. "They help us as much as they can, even handing out sweets on holidays and expressing their sympathy," says utility worker Ainagul Kozhina.
Nurgali Omirzhan, who has been working in the city's sanitation department for 10 years, said that such good actions call for unity among the people.
"We hear that such good actions are often held throughout the city. Today, they are distributing hot tea and baursak. I think such good actions call for unity among the residents. I would like to thank the organizers," says Nurgali Omirzhan.
