First Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aizhan Bizhanova held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, akimats, trade networks and social and entrepreneurial corporations. The meeting discussed measures to supply the market with potatoes and stabilize prices.
According to Aizhan Bizhanova, the country's largest trade networks, including "Magnum", "Small", "Anvar" and "Dina", are ready to conclude contracts for the purchase of 1.5 thousand tons of potatoes directly from farmers. In addition, trade networks are ready to pick up the products from the farms themselves.
"Akimats need to indicate their needs, including volumes for trade networks, which is important for quickly meeting market demand. It is also very important to establish close ties between agricultural producers and retail outlets," the First Vice Minister of Trade and Integration noted.
She also drew attention to the need to strengthen the work of regional commissions studying intermediary schemes in the food price formation chain. At the same time, the First Vice Minister instructed to work with farmers and consider issues of preventing unjustified increases in wholesale prices for potatoes and other products.
It should be noted that this year, the regional departments of the Trade Committee held 20 regional commissions, as a result of which 49 violations were identified. Among them, the facts of increasing the trade markup on potatoes as a socially significant product by more than 15% were recorded.
