The EEC Council approved the first projects in the field of industrial cooperation
25.01.2025 13:15:44 803On January 22, the EEC Council meeting, held in an online format, was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin from the Kazakh side. During the meeting, the application of the Industrial Development Fund for financing the project of the Kazakh Kazrost Engineering Ltd. for the production of agricultural machinery was approved.
As part of the joint cooperation project, the company, together with the Russian Rostselmash combine harvester plant and the Belarusian KUVO enterprise, plans to localize the production of combine harvester cabins in Kazakhstan and purchase equipment.
Thanks to this project, the plant's design capacity for the production of combine harvesters will increase from 700 to 1,000 units per year.
For this purpose, for the first time, the members of the EEC Council proposed unprecedented conditions for subsidizing the interest rate on loans in the amount of 100% of the base rate of the National Bank. The amount of financial support is approximately 192 million tenge and is allocated from the EAEU budget.
Another Kazakhstani company, Astana Kala Kurylys LLP, is participating in the project implemented by a Russian enterprise. This project was also approved for preferential financing at the meeting of the EEC Council. This is the project of the Murom routing plant to create production capacities for the production of products for the construction of the Moscow - St. Petersburg high-speed railway. The Kazakh company will provide engineering and construction services.
In general, the new mechanism for financial support for joint cooperation projects is a logical continuation of the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who stated at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in May 2023, on Kazakhstan's readiness to become the center of Eurasian industrial cooperation.
In addition, the meeting of the EEC Council approved a draft agreement on administrative cooperation in the field of services related to the production and distribution of films and videos. The document defines a list of freely available information on the Internet, such as NRA, films allowed for distribution and other information intended for exchange between market participants of the EAEU countries. This document is aimed at developing cooperation between the parties in the field of cinematography, introducing a mechanism for protecting the rights and legitimate interests of service providers, as well as honest market participants. In the near future, this document will be sent to the EAEU countries to undergo intra-state coordination procedures.
The Concept for Improving the Interaction of Intelligent Transport Systems of the EAEU Member States was approved. The document was adopted with the aim of developing a coordinated transport policy of the participating countries, taking into account the level of development of integrated information and telematics technologies. The interaction of intelligent transport systems allows organizing technical support for users, increasing road safety and optimizing transport flows.
Also, a procedure for collecting, compiling and presenting information on the circulation of products that are harmful to human health, animals, property, the environment or are dangerous was adopted. The document will reduce the risk of such products being in use and in free circulation.
During the meeting, issues in the areas of customs regulation, technical regulation, macroeconomics, and competition were also discussed.
