At the initiative of the Ministry of Health, a program to assess the knowledge and skills of specialists of multidisciplinary teams of obstetric organizations covering 20 regions of the country was launched on the basis of the National Independent Examination Center (NIEC).

The main goal of testing and training is to develop the basic skills and improve the professional competence of specialists in the field of medical care for mothers and newborns.
A group of trainers consisting of highly qualified experts and representatives of specialized medical communities has been created within the framework of the program.

This approach, based on modern methods and international standards, will contribute to increasing the level of patient safety and introducing best practices in perinatal medicine.

For the first time in the last 10 years, in 2024, the highest indicators were achieved in the field of maternal and child health care, reducing infant mortality by 6.7% and maternal mortality by 11.4%.
Thanks to the professional and coordinated work of all specialists of the obstetric service, 367 thousand safe deliveries were carried out last year.

However, despite the achievements, work continues to improve the quality of medical care in the field of maternal and child health through advanced training of specialists of the service.
