In Kazakhstan, a comprehensive modernization of generation facilities, heat and electricity supply networks is planned within the framework of the National Project "Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sectors".
Today, the total length of the country's power grids is about 470 thousand km, of which 27 thousand km are of national importance.
Taking into account the high wear and tear (over 70%), 2.7 trillion tenge will be invested in the modernization of 77.5 thousand km of power grids, which will allow reducing the wear and tear rate to 45%.
In addition, in order to increase the installed power capacity and ensure reliable power supply to the country's economy and population, additional generation sources of 7.3 GW (29 projects) will be introduced by 2029 for the amount of 6,208 billion tenge.
The implementation of the above projects will allow reducing the average wear and tear of power plants from 57% to 40%.
Therefore At the same time, investments totaling 1,257 billion tenge are being attracted to replace and reconstruct 1,622 km of worn-out networks in the heat supply sector, which will reduce average wear by 10% and improve the quality of life of more than 12 million citizens of the country.
