About 70 military personnel from Aktobe, Aktau, Beineu, Ural and Atyrau garrisons took part in the competitions held on the basis of the children's and youth sports school No. 4.
The competitions were held in seven weight categories. The championship was opened by the first deputy commander of the Zapad regional Command, Colonel Baghlan Userbayev, who noted the importance of developing this sport, including as a military-applied one.
– Sambo develops endurance, strong-willed qualities, helps to improve combat skills. The competition allowed you to show your athletic skills. There is progress, including in expanding the arsenal of technical and tactical prems," said Colonel B. Userbayev.
According to the results of the competition, the team of military unit 30238 of the Aktobe garrison won gold in the team competition. The sambo wrestlers of the Ural Garrison Territorial Defense Brigade were awarded silver, and the servicemen of the Atyrau garrison reconnaissance regiment were awarded bronze.
The winners and prize-winners were awarded with cups, medals and diplomas. The championship has become an important step in strengthening the physical and moral training of military personnel.
